BMW R 12 nineT rear lights: plan the wiring

What does a three-in-one lamp combine?

The same housing can serve as tail light, brake light and turn signal, but its internal wiring and the motorcycle's expected electrical load vary. Plan the legal light positions for the target market separately from the electrical design.

Why is a wiring diagram essential?

Identify the actual model, year, lamp part number and connector pinout. Confirm ground, supply and control functions with measurements on the bike. On a modern BMW, a wire colour or pinout copied from an older R nineT conversion may be wrong. A fault message after an LED change needs diagnosis of the specific circuit, not an arbitrary resistor.

Does the Urban21 rear section fit?

Diamond Atelier's individual Urban21 short-tail part is confirmed for older R nineT models before the R 12 generation. This article does not claim that it fits an R 12 or R 12 nineT. For R 12 lighting we would review the motorcycle, lamps and desired rear construction as a separate project.

How does Diamond Atelier work?

We wire rear lighting individually as part of suitable custom builds, documenting function, routing, connector protection and service access. We do not offer a universal plug-in adapter. Send the R 12 variant/year, lamp specifications and photographs to discuss an individual solution.
