What should be checked before choosing a small battery?
First establish the motorcycle's starting demand, charging behaviour and available space. A compact case does not tell you whether a battery can crank the engine under the relevant temperature and load. Terminal placement, cable length, protection, vibration and access for inspection are part of the decision.
What are Diamond Atelier's two packaging approaches?
For suitable BMW Airhead builds we offer a slim LFP starter battery in a carbon sleeve that can fit inside an appropriate frame tube. A separate LFP pouch pack can sit beside the mo.unit carrier beneath the tank. The two layouts have different shapes and mounting requirements; we do not claim that either fits every 2V frame or tank. Compare the two layouts.
How does the custom A123 26650 service work?
For a separately specified custom starter battery we use A123 26650 LiFePO4 cells. Each string has four cells in series. The number of parallel strings, enclosure and connections are chosen only after reviewing the electrical load and available space. The frame-tube and pouch solutions are distinct packaging options; the cell architecture of a particular product is confirmed in its own specification.
Can the battery be placed above the gearbox?
A position above the gearbox must be evaluated for heat, vibration, secure retention and access. A holder that works on a static mock-up may behave differently after a long hot ride. Diamond Atelier's gearbox electronics plate is not a battery holder. We check the real temperature and mounting conditions before approving any location.
What if the battery repeatedly discharges?
Diagnose the charging circuit and any standing current before replacing the battery. A new pack will not repair a defective regulator, alternator, ground connection or accessory circuit. Bring the model, charging measurements and a description of the fault to the enquiry. Configure a battery review.
